Lotus

A bit of a disappointment coming from Simz. Aside from a couple of exceptions I didn't find myself caring for most of this record. I've been a big fan of Simz since 2019 and this is probably my least favorite project of hers. Nothing is bad, far from it, but a large chunk of it is mostly forgettable for me, but I can see why some people would love it. It's too vibey, I prefer when she makes songs with more bite and grit. Too many songs on here just kind of blend into the background and I forget that I'm listening to anything. The features, especially Obongjayar, are fantastic but they pale in comparison to their previous collaboration "Point and Kill". Favorite tracks: Thief, Flood, Lion
