Read in German Read on someone's recommendation and it lived up to their hype. The writing is genuinely incredible. Thomas Bernhard uses a kind of literary mechanism of nested, incredibly repetitive prose, but it works and I couldn't get enough of it. It's so witty, so observant, with so many brutal insults I genuinely laughed out loud. Will definitely read more Bernhard
