Three stars because I honest to God do not know if I like or dislike this book 😂 The premise and the topics he touches on genuinely couldn't be more relevant now that we have people claiming they read books by getting a chatGPT summary (*gags*) but the world building and the way he develops and presents these ideas are sloppy and strange (to me at least). The writing stile I am not a fan of, at times it's just a manic vomit of words (but not in a good way). I've read somewhere Bradbury apparently wrote this in like a weekend and honesty I didn't fact check but I can definitely see it happening 😂 The manic pixie dream 17-year old girl he has very very strange thoughts about (as a thirty year old btw) just didn't sit right with me AT ALL...just one of those YoU aRe So MaTuRe for yOuR Age type of crap. I think he even SAYS that in the book 🤣🤣 I could go on forever but to sum up - I feel Ray Bradbury had a general vague idea he was running on, probably inspired by the rise of these faster-paced media and the rise of consumerism, and then just wrapped a story around this but dodnt flush out these ideas to the end - did he do it well? Did he do it poorly? Who knows, not me! I have never been so confused by a book before (in the sense of not know whether I vibe with it or not).
