FUCK YEAH CARL FUCK 'EM UP, KILL 'EM ALL, LET'S FUCKING GO THE UNBREAKABLE HUMAN SPIRIT CONQUERS ALL! Not quite as good as book 5 but still great, I mean it's another DCC book but the structure of this floor is quite a bit different than the previous ones. The characters are very rarely in danger until the last act, which, to be fair, last a long ass time. It could be said that each of the books are like a slow Rube Golderg machine slowly coming together as each of the items Carl and Princess Donut have collected, each of the mechanics they've learned about throughout the book come together in mostly unexpected ways. But this one is especially Rube Goldberg-y in it's setup and execution. It uses a weird Yu-GI-Oh! style card game, which is completely and intentionally unbalanced, but our heroes mostly use it to abuse game mechanics and bugs in interesting ways, it's pretty clever! The emotional beats don't hit quite as hard as in book five I have a feeling it's mostly because book seven is about to be devastating. Good shit. Onto book seven, and then I guess I'll have to wait for new releases :(
