Played this on release and it was bittersweet. The bones of an incredible game were all there but mismanagement lead to an early, unstable release of biblical proportions. It was a mostly bug-free experience, except for one game-breaking bug that I managed to unbreak by chance, but the world felt incomplete. If only they had been given another year. I still loved the main storyline, it is the closest to an interactive movie I have ever felt from a videogame. Every space and character was captivating. The moment it ended I just wanted more, so I replayed it half a year later. If there was one criticism, besides the incredibly botched release by CD Projekt Red, it would be that the core plotline gives the impression of urgency, letting the player know they have limited time to solve a mystery and survive. However, as we know, the player has no need to rush the game and should actually take their time to explore and discover the world. This for me is a pretty major contradiction. Truly a top 5 memorable gaming experience and I suggest everyone play it. Not necessarily for the combat, although it's fun, especially on harder difficulties where some planning is expected, but for the characters and storytelling.
