The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.

Classic for a reason. 99% of the movie takes place in the most boring room imaginable and the director is able to come up with new interesting frames for the entire 90 minute duration. Pretty powerful message and maybe the only thing that ages the movie is the fact that it can be corny at times. However I did find myself resonating with these corny moments more than cringing or scoffing at them, maybe I'm just getting old. The atmosphere is palpable, maybe I was a bit biased since I felt like the 13th angry man sweating it out in my humid living room without a working AC, I was only missing some high rise trousers and a pack of cigarettes which would probably be illegal today. Also surprisingly funny, in a weirdly modern way, does anything ever change?
It’s like a toxic group chat, but someone’s life depends on it It’s excellent and I don’t mean “for that time”. It didn’t age at all. I’d just love to see a version where it’s 12 women and see how that would go down
I made twenty-seven thousand last year selling marmalade. That's not bad. Considering marmalade
