Twenty-eight days after a killer virus was accidentally unleashed from a British research facility, a small group of London survivors are caught in a desperate struggle to protect themselves from the infected. Carried by animals and humans, the virus turns those it infects into homicidal maniacs -- and it's absolutely impossible to contain.

A lot of hype about this one as 28 Years has recently released. It was a bit disappointing, maybe it's a victim of its own influence? The directing and cinematography are great, but it's difficult to see that clearly due to the horrible image quality due to being one of the pioneers of shooting on digital. I like a lot of the character moments, the film is able to quickly establish some nice friendly relationships between our cast after Gleeson's character shows up but I never bought the romance between Jim and Selena, even for a second. It takes an interesting turn in the second half but that part has loads of issues. I dunno, I'm not sure how I feel about it, I find myself minding some things similarly to 28 Years Later but that one is so weird and cool and refreshing that I cannot fault it too much, maybe that was the case for this one as well at time of release? Many people credit it for pioneering or popularizing fast zombies, and maybe that is the case, but they're barely relevant for most of the film. Can someone clue me into what I'm missing?
