Probably the best looking zombie movie ever. I was mostly on board with the tonal rollercoaster,movies not having proper endings is getting annoying though
Extremely fresh and crisp film and I would recommend it to anyone who loves Ralph Fiennes and Aaron Taylor Johnost, which is like, basically everyone? It's got everything, the drama, the horror thing and the comedic aspect as well. It's very in tune with itself and knows exactly what it's trying to portray and say. I didn't watch the original prequels but nevertheless felt like I understood everything and was instantly brought into the universe of a post zombie apocaliptic Great Britain. What I also appreciated was this ethereal, cold and muddy and foggy vibe that this picture revoked (hence, most of the plot is centered around a deep and rich evergreen forrest), that was super popular in 2010-s, with films such as Twilight and Snow white. Maybe I am just nostalgic because those are not good movies, but I still hold them dear. I loved the ending as well, which was humorous and presented us with a sequal plan in a really subtle and creative way.

Soooo tonally inconsistent, but not in a bad way. I didn’t think there was anything new or groundbreaking, but 28 Years was just so entertaining. Lots of tense moments, memorable images, extreme gore, and chase scenes with the infected. I’m excited to see the next instalment.
Watched it in the cinema and to be honest, I liked it and am still processing it. They introduced a few interesting elements that set it apart from your typical zombie movie. The music didn’t quite land. Some tracks felt out of place, especially in scenes that would’ve been more powerful in silence. Sometimes less really is more. It’s set up to be a trilogy, which annoys me, but hey, I'll be enjoying it two more times, hopefully. Allegedly Danny Boyle won't be directing it and that sucks. Lets see what future brings.
Wacky ass, refreshing, film that's tonally all over the place, but it mostly works for me. This was a fantastic watch, I loved almost all of it. The cinematography is stunning, some great and memorable shots peppered throughout the entire film, one sequence early on stands out especially though. The directing is bold and stylistically distinct, one of the gimmicks does get a bit overused and repetitive but it's still better than most zombie action films. Music is also utilized in a fun and silly way in almost every action sequence, of which there are not too many for a zombie film. The performances are fantastic, Comer, Williams, and Fiennes are all acting their asses off, great job by everyone. One of my biggest problems with this film is that while it does have a defined arc for our heroes it's also very obviously setting up a sequel, which I'm very excited to see, especially || after the Jimmy Savile chav ninjas show up in the last scene. || I loved this film but I can definitely see that it is not for everyone.
