I absolutely loved this and I'm retroactively bumping up the first film to a 5/5 as well. I'm so happy that these films got made and hopefully they'll eventually make the third one. It's just such a beautiful movie, which is a funny thing to say considering all the violence and gore it features. It's definitely more fucked up than the first one, but it's also subdued and profound. Fiennes as Dr. Ian Kelson is one of the more captivating and enchanting characters I've seen put on screen, he has such a strong an subtle presence that just pulls the viewer into the screen, I'm really devastated that I couldn't see this in the theater because it would've been just incredible. The developments with Samson are kind of predictable, but are done in such an incredible and captivating way that it literally made us gasp a couple of times, just executed so well. ||I feel like the writers had this idea for a scene where Kelson dances around a fire to an Iron Maiden song and they just wrote the movie around getting to this point, and it works perfectly.|| Ugh I just love love love this, one of my all time favorites.
It is obvious that the production is milking this cow, and that the whole 28 years later story could've been one movie, but I've enjoyed this movie, and am looking forward to the third part.
