A misanthropic author, a single mother and waitress, and a gay artist form an unlikely friendship after the artist is assaulted in a robbery.
Fine by pretty peculiar characters all-in-all. Nicholson is supposed to be a changed man with occasionally demonstrating good character, but the underlying selfishness of his actions makes him a quite unlikeable lead overall. Still, a reasonable movie with great performances.
