King T'Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country's new leader. However, T'Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne by factions within his own country as well as without. Using powers reserved to Wakandan kings, T'Challa assumes the Black Panther mantle to join with ex-girlfriend Nakia, the queen-mother, his princess-kid sister, members of the Dora Milaje (the Wakandan 'special forces') and an American secret agent, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

A great Marvel origin movie, where the villain actually are interesting even though he is mirroring the hero. First of all the set design and costume are some of the best I have seen. I'm really in love with Afrofuturism, and want to see more of it. After this movie I have no trouble seeing a black James Bond. The whole first act in Korea gives of a awesome James Bond vibe, I really dig it, and want to see more of it. Hopefully a Black Panther 2 can give us some more of that vibe. The script is really good, and has some really well thought out setups and payoff, that push the movie forward. The cast works really well, Michael B. Jordan, Angela Bassett and Danai Gurira are brilliantly cast. Especially B. Jordan again blows me over. I believe in his character motivation, and he is a badass. The only thing I have a trouble with is why they just don't go to Wakanda in the start. The whole scene in Korea is awesome, but really not something you need for the story. Itss just aw
