The Gardner family moves to a remote farmstead in rural New England to escape the hustle of the 21st century. They are busy adapting to their new life when a meteorite crashes into their front yard, melts into the earth, and infects both the land and the properties of space-time with a strange, otherworldly colour. Part of Junesploitation - Day 28 - Nic Cage! ---------- Jeg har set frem til endelige at få set Richard Stanleys filmatisering af Lovecraft med Nicolas Cage. På papiret virker det som et match made in heaven. Og det er den super tæt på at være. Jeg er vild med at Nicolas Cage er en amatør alpaka farmer, hvilket i sig selv lyder virkelig dumt og det er det også lidt. Nicolas Cage er kun så god som den instruktør han arbejder med. Heldigvis er Stanley ret god, men meget rusten. Det er hans første spillefilm siden 1996, hvor han blev fyret fra The Island of Moreau, der bare var et kæmpe færdselsuheld af en film. Hvis man ikke kender den historie, så skal man hurtigst muligt få fat på dokumentaren ”Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau”, som giver et indblik ind i film, som er dømt til at gå gal.
