Well-acted, but I really hate the religious premise of this film. Does a rapist/murderer deserve forgiveness and absolution simply because he regrets what he did? It’s an interesting question, but the religious aspect of forgiveness and confession completely invalidates the unimaginable pain that was inflicted - which is often what religion does. I like movies that ask uncomfortable questions, but Dead Man Walking just reinforced to me how horrible religion is.
