King: I need to re-marry because I need an heir! Advisor: You have a daughter? King: Great idea, bring her! Advisor: I meant she’s an hei— King: I’ll marry her! Apart from that creepy starting premise, it’s the usual clichéd Cinderella-like fairytale. A brief appearance of the fairy godmother is iconic and costumes and set designs are absolutely STUNNING, I was wide-eyed soaking in all the sparkly details like a demented crow, but unfortunately altogether I found it pretty boring.
Some fun costumes can’t hide the reality that the music in this musical sucks, and that the king (let’s call him donald) wants to fuck his daughter and that the faerie that sends the princess to live in squalor ||ends up marrying the king thus making her entire endeavour pointless||
