Absolutely diabolical amount of ad placement. Good racing sequences overshadowed by Hans Zimmer's annoying score...
This movie gets so many things wrong about F1 that if I were to rate it solely based on that I wouldn’t give it more than 1 star. But I understand this is made to appeal to wider audiences not just F1 fans, so if you watch it with half of your brain turned off you might enjoy it. And I believe it will get more people into real f1. Considering that and my love for all things motorsport I’m giving it very generous 4 stars.
I love the editing and the cinemagraphy. Lovely homage to Grandprix
Incredibly boring, cliche and predictable. The less you know about F1 the better, but I would easily excuse the nonsense that happens in this movie if any other aspect of it was redeemable. The entire cast is phoning it in, you can easily predict every plot point of the movie after just reading the synopsis and it's probably about 40 minutes too long. I went into this movie expecting the plot to be as formulaic as possible but I went to see it because of the racing sequences, and even that disappointed me. It's not bad, I didn't find myself losing track of the race or anything like that but also it didn't blow me away at all. Can it recommend this one at all.
