As the world falls, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the wasteland, they encounter the citadel presided over by Immortan Joe. The two tyrants wage war for dominance, and Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Man, for Miller to come back after Fury Road and make a film that's so different but amazing in its own way is something to behold. Is a sort of ying to the first movie's yang, as much as action movies can be. Compared to Fury Road's electrifying erratic and loud action, Furiosa is minimal, slow and deliberate. Every piece of choreography is so well conceived and executed, Miller manages to portray characters wit and intelligence without uterring a single line of dialogue. The supporting cast is hilarious, especially Hemsworth who is increible in the role of Dementus. He's really chewing up every second of screen time he has, one of all time great villains. Worldbuilding is captivating as well, just an incredible mythology Miller has out together, again with almost no explanation. Characters throw around words which make no sense in our world but it's immediately obvious what they mean in the wasteland. I'm devastated that this film flopped so hard. Getting another Mad Max entry from Miller was a tall order already because of his age, but now the chances are next to none 😢
Day 23 of #Junesploitation - Free Space! A tale of how horrible middlemanagement is. Chris Hemsworth costumes change during the movie is on point. The set design and world building is stellar. The action set pieces are still some of the best.
Suffers a bit from Sin City 2 syndrome: just as visually stunning as the first in its good moments but doesn't maintain the same relentless focus towards pushing the limits of the medium as Fury Road.
