Trapped in their office by a baying crowd from all religious backgrounds, a group of filmmakers contemplate a fictional short film they have made disproving the existence of God. As the crowd outside intensifies they wonder if it is just a film or maybe something much more important.
If you're the type that likes westerns, and especially love John Fords vistas, Sergio Leone compositions and grisly violence and love a new take on the genre. Well the you should sit down and watch Godless. This is not a tv series its a 8 hour epic. Visually its incredible. The color correction of the flashbacks is something out of this world. It has a really crisp and beautiful feel to it. Scott Frank has an understanding for the genre I havn't seen since Clint Eastwood made The Unforgiven. Jeff Daniels is formidable as the religious bad guy. He steals every scene he is in. Oh and its fantastic to see a western with so many strong female characters. Its awesome to see how they play with gender roles in a conservative setting. And yes I understand people feel cheated having seen the trailer, and the the movie.
