Former London constable Nicholas Angel finds it difficult to adapt to his new assignment in the sleepy British village of Sandford. Not only does he miss the excitement of the big city, but he also has a well-meaning oaf for a partner. However, when a series of grisly accidents rocks Sandford, Angel smells something rotten in the idyllic village.

Probably about the 10th time watching it, just a flawless action comedy. Every time I watch it I find new things to appreciate and it just becomes clearer and clearer that I really don't have a single complaint about this film. The writing and directing are incredibly sharp and witty, there's setups and clever callbacks throughout the entire movie, almost every scene, even when just played for laughs, becomes relevant at some point. I could gush on and on about every single aspect of this film but what really sets it apart from other films in the same caliber is the directing. Wright has an incredible touch and every scene has something witty and clever to discover, whether it's background foreshadowing, characters entering and exiting the frame in interesting and fun ways, self-aware over the top smash cuts, clever ways of incorporating the soundtrack. It's really something to behold. Must watch.
