After being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil.
Robert Downey jr. is perfectly cast as Tony Stark. He will forever be the embodiment of Tony Stark. I love the start in media res, and then the flashback, so we can see how he ends there. The character arc really works, and is very believable. Jeff bridges Iron Monger is a bid tame, but he gets the job done, and he works as the father figure that betrays him. I'm actually glad that Don Cheadle replaced Terrence Howard in the sequel and in the MCU. He doesn't quite have the same charisma as Cheadle, and chemistry with Downey jr. It still has one of the best soundtracks, and the best use of a Black Sabbath song in a trailer.
