I know nothing about Jujutsu Kaisen so this felt like falling asleep in front of TV and waking up in the middle of a random channel on intergalactic cable. I actually enjoyed it watching it this way, with no need to understand what’s going on. However! At least a third of it was flashbacks and I don’t know who it’s for? It doesn’t help people who watched the show because they know what happened, and it doesn’t help people who didn’t because it’s literally just a bunch of highlight moments with no context. I watched other movies based on anime that I also haven’t seen and they worked pretty well as standalone movies, so I don’t know what this one’s excuse is. I liked that there were no megaboobs and camel toes. I liked music, character design and glimpses of architecture, unfortunately just glimpses before our heroes went back to shouting at each other in various rubble.
half the film is flashback lol the other half is about 1 episode worth of content that's been stretched, the fights are almost impossible to decipher. really strange directorial choices considering the anime itself is amazingly choreographed and animated. there is basically no story here, just minor progression cool art style and music, really unusual, but should have been an OVA
