An operatic and disturbing look into the Osage murders. This movie was a beast to get through, but so well-made, and brought visibility to the plight of Indigenous people in North America. However, I do wish the story was framed more from the Osage perspective as opposed to the criminals responsible for the killings. Lily Gladstone was a revelation, and the most powerful presence in a cast of many veteran actors.
Robert De Niro spanking Leonardo DiCaprio was not on my 2023 bingo card
objectively good movie with a really sinister and important story to tell, but somehow left me just a little unphased. in a similar vein to the irishman, it’s fun while watching, but afterwards you’re left thinking “was it?”
