Fr: Un film très poignant avec Isabelle Huppert, lumineuse et mélancolique au noyau de cette histoire. La représentation du 19ème siècle est fidèle et très bien réalisée (et je suis très fan de films en costumes d’époque). Récemment, la version 4K restaurée en Blu Ray est sortie en France, mais je viens d’apprendre qu’il y a une version télévision qui dure trois heures. Quelle tristesse de ne pas pouvoir le regarder aussi! Eng: A poignant and touching story, with a luminous and melancholic Isabelle Huppert at its centre. This film has one of the best looking recreations of the 19th century that I’ve ever seen, and I’m very into period dramas. Recently, a 4K restoration of this film came out on Blu Ray in France, but I just learned there is also a 3 hour television version. What a missed opportunity to not include that one as well.
