FBI Agent Lee Harker is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer. As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.
Someone had a few ideas for some singular, visually extremely well constructed suspense moments but not much else. In its best moments the movie reminds one of an ominous video installation. The plot seems like a sorry excuse to tie these scene into a feature length film - it's absolute horse shit and does not warrant any further attention. Like something that would've been thrown in the trash at an early TRUE DETECTIVE writers meeting. Once again I'd suggest the film to lean more into its absurdity and not try to provide such construed explanations for everything and actually take us on a more surrealist journey into the unexplainable. At least we have LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL which does a much better job at exploring occultism while at the same time being scarier even though it's a satire.
