No Other Land gives a really eye-opening look into what daily life is like for people who have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. It honestly made some things click for me.
Definitely strongest when it emphasizes repetition: bulldozers, soldiers yelling, violence, rubble and rebuild. Repeat. Really effective in evoking a sense of true horror. By the end, when we see yet another convoy of military vehicles and bulldozers approaching, the terror is palpable. The "rawer" images are best, they are so direct and immediate they they almost reject any possibility for aesthetic judgement, implicating us directly into their politics.
