I absolutely hated this movie. It's a WW2 court room drama that feels like a Marvel Movie. I kept groaning and complaining as I was watching it, but after finishing it I had a realization... It's a movie made for teachers to play during history class when they don't feel like teaching! And if it had marketed itself as that I wouldn't have ever watched it and all would be fine. It's almost a movie for kids. It's about a very serious subject but Rudolf Hess is introduced like a comic book villain. There's horrifying real life footage of death camps, but every other line is punctuated with a shitty joke. Shannon is good. I don't think I've ever enjoyed Malek's performance, and this is no exception. The "banality of evil" point is always relevant and I respect a movie that's able to convey it effectively, but this movie is 5% showing and 95% telling. Overall, just a horrible script. My "review" is more so just random notes and ramblings I had while watching it, but I don't think it's worth the effort or time to invest more into this disaster.
