Henri “Papillon” Charrière, a safecracker from the Parisian underworld, is wrongfully convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the penal colony of French Guiana, where he forges a strong friendship with Louis Dega, a counterfeiter who needs his protection.
It's pretty much a complete rehash of the original from 1973. Its a lot more graphic, but I would rather watch Hoffman and McQueen. Michael Noer is great and interesting director I hope he uses his talent on something better in future. He is one the best new danish directors from 2010s.
