One late night, while casually watching TV, I stumbled upon this film. I wanted to see it in ages, as a kind of a Rachel McAdams fan and as a 100 percent fan of the Scream director, Wes Craven. Unfortunatelly, my expections were not met. The movie is just OK, more on the basic side, which would be fine if I wasn't expecting some tight horror slasher scenes that keeps me short of breath. Cillian Murphy is fine in the portrayal of this creepy airplane sitting-next-to-you passenge, but the whole hostage/murder/kidnapping story is flimsy and a bit naive. Also, Rachel's arc is very predictable from the start, as a smart and chic and powerful yet lonely woman who discovers her strength in though moments. A bit Hallmark-y portrayal of a woman? Yet, the film was shot back in 2005, when women roles were much more shallow and monotonous, so I should be more forgiving. What I appreciate in this picture is the ending, which Iiked. All in all, I advise everyone who considers watching it to watch it the same way I did... Unintentinally!
Not too much to say, it's fine. Rachel McAddams is probably the world's most competent concierge.
Absolutely random watch. Film is completely unhinged in so many ways. The early 2000s feaver dream aesthetic is so real. The post-9/11 homeland security brainwash shines through like crazy.Lisa, whatever female-driven, emotion-based dilemma you may be dealing with right now, you have my sympathy. But for the sake of time and sanity, let's break this down into a little male-driven fact-based logic. One simple phone call saves your dad's life.😭😭😭😭😭😭
