A beautiful girl, Snow White, takes refuge in the forest in the house of seven dwarfs to hide from her stepmother, the wicked Queen. The Queen is jealous because she wants to be known as "the fairest in the land," and Snow White's beauty surpasses her own.

The first animated feature length film, and one of the first animated films I saw as a child. A product of its time - silly overdone 1930s slapstick, fizzy idealized true love, naive female protagonist… but I love this film. It’s hard to look at a movie from 1937 through a lens of modern morality, and it’s even harder to look at traditional fairytale themes this way. At its heart, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a gorgeous, dark, and romantic story with beautiful music. I still think it portrays many things we yearn for in life, and despite its age, it’s still timeless, funny, and moving. Morality and feminism have advanced (more or less) since its release, but the dream of true love will always live strong.
Filmen der startede det hele. Det er en smule bedaget idag, og selve fortælling er lidt kedelig. Men hold op hvor er det vildt så smuk den stadig er her næsten 85 år senere.
