England, 15th century. Hal, a capricious prince who lives among the populace far from court, is forced by circumstances to reluctantly accept the throne and become Henry V.
Slow at times but with tremendous performances. I really enjoyed it because I like personal medieval movies. I have a few complaints: the dialogue in some moments is convoluted, as people speak in ways they wouldn’t possibly have expressed themselves; and I didn’t enjoy all the changes to the real history. Some changes I can appreciate, some however favour the characters. History is shit. And filled with shit people. Portray it as such instead of changing it to fit a romanticised narrative. Besides that I thought it was thoroughly enjoyable. Watch on a grey day with a cup of tea.
