God damn it Piercer Brosnan just keeps getting hotter, as he gets older.
A harmless and comfy murder mystery where resolutions are sudden and there's very little to dig into. People figure things out out of the blue yet the movie tries to make them look cleverly deduced. I liked some of the acting (a matter of course with this stacked cast) and somehow everyone's voices are very soothing.
Cute at first glance, but all the characters are a little bit obnoxious and their decisions morally questionable, which makes sense because, if you think about it for a second, these are probably the exact old entitled wealthy Brits whose votes and influences in reality make everyone else’s life a little bit worse

Books are better but Columbus made a very competent film. It’s chill and atmospheric, captures the cosy vibe of the book. He hired seemingly every movie star in Britain, from Hellen Mirren to Ben Kingsley, David Tennant, Pierce Brosnan and many others. The books, however, handled the murder investigation a lot better. In the film it’s so inconsequential, it’s almost farcical. At no point do you actually wonder who killed whom and why, the atmosphere is of profound ambivalence, which cuts down on some of the thrill of murder mysteries. A very enjoyable watch, when you’re in the mood for something comfortable and beautiful.
