Considering the what I assume was enormous fanfare and pressure to deliver, season after season, this movie which follows season 9 really has no right to be this consistent. I'm a little sad Dogget and Reyes were just ghosted but it feels like X Files, our protagonists still great as always. Having the privilege of watching this so many years later so we can just binge and get all the follow-up releases is nice, I can't imagine waiting so many years. Honestly if I knew ||the world was ending so soon, in 4 years in the canon of this movie,|| I'm not sure it would be business as usual
OBVIOUSLY IT’S 5 STARS for Mulder and Scully and I loved it because it’s them, I would watch them literally do nothing and call it a masterpiece I didn’t mind the gritty, snowy, True-Detective-pre-True-Detective-like style, although I missed the original charm, I enjoyed seeing where Scully and Mulder are at some years after the previous season. But the case itself wasn’t too interesting or explored enough, if at all, it was like an okay episode of a show. It’s not strong as a standalone movie and it didn’t contribute much to the show. But the OG crew wrote it, made it, I won’t complain. It has the most ridiculous googling scene after Bella’s scene in Twilight. Fun fact, both movies came out the same year. Conspiracy, perhaps?
