Heroin addict Mark Renton stumbles through bad ideas and sobriety attempts with his unreliable friends --Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud and Tommy. He also has an underage girlfriend, Diane, along for the ride. After cleaning up and moving from Edinburgh to London, Mark finds he can't escape the life he left behind as Begbie and Sick Boy come knocking.
Fuck... This was so good. Hard to watch at times, but so fucking good. The writing, the acting, the music, the pacing! One of the best made films I watched in a long time. I kept rooting for him even when he was the biggest shite. Really makes me think how I percieve things. I wanted him out on top simply because he was the protagonist. Although I don't know if I believe he clean up in the end. I knew the baby was going to end up like that, I thought Tommy was going to hold out and then it went from bad to worse. A real picture of life... the cockroaches live.
