This was a great show, impeccable pacing, good smaller storylines with an overarching one throughout the season. I’m relieved it wasn’t all heroism and glory, but atrocities, cowardice, incompetence, mistakes, too. Still, it had the american exceptionalism undertone, and I wish it showed more of other nations or women’s role during the war. We briefly had the british, needing to be rescued. Of course, the focus was on the 101st airborne that this story is about. Two episodes really struck me, ||the doctor episode where he meets Renee, and the concentration camp liberation, of course. Both hard to watch.|| Important stories that need to be told, it feels like everyone is forgetting that war is never something anyone should want.
