Just finished this. Honestly a little perplexed as to who the audience is intended to be. Unfortunately too childish with no depth at all. It feels like both Super and Daima are just fan fiction, both fanservice galore, one is basically focused on the tournament narrative of Dragon Ball and Z, and Daima is focused on the adventure narratives of Dragon Ball and GT. ||Canonising Super Saiyan 4 was also weird|| As a fan of Dragon Ball I really don’t think Toriyama’s later work captures anything that made Z, and to a lesser extent GT, such phenomena. Daima, like Super, struggles from undeserved and unsatisfying power scaling against uninteresting enemies. There isn’t a moment of actual danger for anyone involved at any time, something that can’t be said for Z or GT. I hope Toyotaro, Toriyama’s successor to the series, brings back some old school aesthetic, new stories (although it’s hard to scale back from “gods of everything” and even harder to create new protagonists) Maybe the series has run its course
