House

When I was a kid I loved this show, House was a sort of idol for me and I didn't see his flaws so clearly. It was peak TV at the time. We started casually rewatching because it was on TV every evening and just continue when the TV schedule blew past us as we didn't have time every evening. It's a relic of its time in a way, back when seasons had 20 episodes and ad breaks were deliberately places just as the tensions are at their peak. Almost every episode is exactly the same, patient gets sick, they think they solved it, they have a couple of seizures just before the ads, everything is miserable and there's no hope, House sees a plumber scratch his balls and miraculously solves the puzzle. Makes you wonder if House ever scratches his balls? Why didn't he think of this sooner? Anyways, that's not so important, some cases are great, some are unwatchable but most are just ok. Usually they're paired with some moral or social dilemma which forces House's team to argue whether it's moral murder a genocida tyrant, leak classified information about war crimes or date a pornstar. It can show it's age at times, but I'm sure it was profound at the time 😅 The characters are what makes the show, most are great and having so many episodes really makes them feel real despite not getting too much development. Their everyday interactions are the heart of the show and it really doesn't get old 8 seasons in, I only wish we got more time with Master's and Park and maybe a bit less with Foreman 😅 Also House's and Wilson's romance is some of the best ever put on the silver screen.
