Nirvanna the Band the Show

Original, warm and hilarious. The show features Nirvanna the Band, two lifelong friends who are trying to get a show at the Rivoli. Instead of just asking to play at the club they come up with increasingly elaborate schemes to trick the club into having them. They're lovable childish idiots and they have a very guerilla style of shooting. Aside from their house, there are no sets, everything is shot on location, surrounded and featuring people who are not actors and who are unaware that they're being filmed and that Matt and Jay are playing characters. Sometimes these unexpected interactions will completely define the plot of the episode as the show doesn't really have a script. It results in an incredibly original show with a lot of heart and some of the funniest moments I've seen in TV. Judgimg from the insanely positive reception #[movie:1154538:Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie (2026)] has been getting I'm hoping the show will finally get its well deserved laurels.
