G. G. Marquez is my favourite author and One hundred years of solitude has to be one of my favourite books of all time. So it's no surprise that I was woorysome of transforming the written word to the screen. If you have ever read anything by Marquez, you know what I am talking about. His style of writing is very dense, with many descriptions and little dialogue. Also, all the other attempts of filming his work had poor outcomes. However, the first season of One hundred years of solitude was a beautiful, wonderful thing. The surreal magic of Macondo was so palpable and one of the reasons why it went that way was for sure casting Colombian actors and the whole production being South American. Cannot be any more excited for season 2!
