Season 8 review: IMO not as good as season 7. R&M is always a mixed bag and that's kind of what makes it R&M, each season is like a metronome swinging wildly from "really fucking good SC-FI" to "unfunny slop". This season the metronome kind of just stays in the middle, except for one really really bad episode (the easter bunny one) and one fantastic episode (the finale). Everything else is just kind of ehhhh, with too large of a focus on action sequences, which are cool but get boring really fast. I understand that they're running out of quirky sci-fi concepts to explore but when they manage to pull it off and combine it with surprisingly impactful emotional beats, it's really inspiring. I really think they should just cut the seasons down to 5 episodes.
Started season 8, so far so good
Fuck yeah season 8 let's go babyy. I'm one of those people that still watches and enjoys Rick and Morty and I think season 7 was a fantastic return to form after a couple of dud seasons. Season 8 is off to a good start, hope they can keep up the tempo!
