Man what a show, it's unfortunate that the tail end of the (for now) last season is by far the weakest part. The series follows the staff of The Knickerbocker hospital at the dawn of the 20th century in New York while modern medicine, specifically surgery, were in their infancy. What a great setting, and it features Clive Owen and the music SLAPS and it's super progressive without being too on the nose. Every character is flawed and realistic and theu fuck up and it's just a fantastic watch. I kind of started writing this as if it was going to be a proper review and then just started rambling so I'll just cotninue rambling a bit more. I'm angry that this show got cut when it did, season 2 could've been two seasons easily, and as a result many of the plot points feel rushed and like they conclude out of nowhere, which is just unfortunate. Regardless it's still fantastic --- Binged it about 10 years ago and remember being thoroughly impressed, rewatching now and it's even better than I remember. Soderbergh directed all 20 episodes btw
