This documentary series explores an audacious 1970s auto scam centered around mysterious transgender entrepreneur Elizabeth Carmichael, who rose to prominence when she released the Dale, a fuel-efficient three-wheeled vehicle during the 1970s gas crisis.
It's the story about Liz Carmichael, and it's an insane story. If hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it. It's a story about deceit, trans rights and a funky 3 wheeled car I would have loved to see finished and produced. The series does a lot to try and get away from the talking head syndrome, and have some cool appropriated animations that really works. Its a portrait of a woman born in the wrong body. It's not black and white, its ra fair portrayal of a swindler, a loving mother and libertarian.
